Join us for a conversation with children's book author and illustrator Duncan Tonatiuh about Separate is Never Equal: Sylvia Mendez & Her Family's Fight for Desegregation, which tells the story of a young girl in California whose family challenges school segregation practices, ultimately winning a precedent-setting court case that would help bring down school segregation across the U.S.
This special event is a collaboration between the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute and the San Antonio Public Library.
