Raza Cósmica, San Antonio’s annual showcase of sci-fi and speculative films by Latinx and BIPOC filmmakers, returns October 9-11, 2025! Raza Cósmica is presented by MonteVideo (MonteVideo210.org) and is sponsored by the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute (MACRI) and American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions (AIT-SCM).
Raza Cósmica continues on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Arthouse at Blue Star with Excursions in Afrofuturism. Afrofuturism expresses notions of Black identity, agency, and freedom through art, creative works, and activism that envision liberated futures for Black life. This vibrant selection of shorts by Afro-Latino and Black directors explores movement, family, and hope, and includes films from Ireland and the United States. Hosted by San Antonio artist Dragonfly!
