About the event

Please join us to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Mendez vs. 9th Circuit Court ruling that found the forced segregation of Mexican American students unconstitutional. We will screen the Emmy-winning documentary Mendez vs. Westminster: For All the Children followed by a conversation with the filmmaker Sandra Robbie and Janice Munemitsu, who is featured in the film and authored The Kindness of Color: The Story of Two Families and Mendez, et al. v. Westminster, the 1947 Desegregation of California Public Schools.

This special event is a collaboration between the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute and the San Antonio Public Library.
