To celebrate the release of the Jovita Idár Quarter, the ninth coin in the American Women Quarters™ Program, the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute based in San Antonio, Texas, is holding a student art contest for original student art inspired by Jovita Idár. The contest judges will include representatives from the Smithsonian Institute, Our Lady of the Lake University, and the Idár family. Winners of the contest will receive a medal at the Jovita Idár Symposium on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the San Antonio Public Library's Central Library.
